Woodbridge, VA (January 2, 2017)- The Potomac Patriots Futures Showcase closed on Sunday with the teams from New Jersey enjoying the start of the new year after a tremendous weekend.

The Jersey Hitmen kicked things off on Friday with a win over the PAL Jr. Islanders in the event’s opening contest. This set the tone for the rest of the weekend, as they also knocked off the Jersey Shore Whalers and the New York Aviators to finish 3-0.

Aside from the loss to the Hitmen, Jersey Shore had much to celebrate, as they edged the Potomac Patriots on Saturday and downed the New Jersey Rockets in a shootout on Sunday.

Despite the shootout loss to Jersey Shore, the Rockets put together an impressive weekend, starting with a win over the Aviators on Friday before grabbing four points on Saturday thanks to wins over the Connecticut Jr. Rangers and the PAL Jr. Islanders.

Potomac began with a win over the Rangers on Friday, but fell in their second matchup on Sunday before regrouping and knocking off PAL to finish the tournament.

The Aviators beat PAL on Saturday morning, but fell to the Rangers later that day.
