“Sean is a terrific player and leader,” stated Rhinos GM/Head Coach Krzysztof Oliwa. “From the first day of practice back in the 2015-16 season, he established himself as a strong presence in the locker room. His commitment to on and off ice work and his will to succeed are unmatched."
Schirripa states, "Being a Rhino is a great opportunity. From fast-paced, 2 hour-long on ice practices, to the crazy intense off ice training. You continually find yourself getting better as a hockey player. Coach always said, "It's training. You come here to get bigger, stronger and faster." Being a Rhino you have all of the tools at your disposal that you need to succeed, a full gym (with turf), your own ice sheet that you can use whenever, and a coach that cares about you. Playing for a former Stanley Cup Champion is really something that you have to take in, when you listen to him talk about hockey, you start to appreciate that he has been there, and he really knows the game. Playing under Coach Oliwa's wing the past two years has helped me become the player I am today, and for that I thank him.
Schirripa continues, "A word to incoming players: From day one, bring your hard hat, and your shovel because you're about to go to work! And it is worth every second."
We would like to thank Sean for all his contributions to the Kalkaska Rhinos organization over 2 campaigns (2015-16 and 2016-17) finishing with 46G 54A in 74GP. Good luck on the rest of your journey!
