Boston, MA – The Decatur Blaze finished with a 1-3 record over last weekend’s Islanders Showcase.
Opening the event Friday morning, the Blaze suffered a 7-1 loss to the Connecticut Jr. Rangers.
Alec Hernandez scored and Adam Lindeman finished with 59 saves in goal.
Then Friday evening, Lane Timmons made 34 saves as the Blaze fell 4-0 to the Rochester Monarchs.
Saturday night, Decatur earned its first win at the showcase, winning 6-1 over the Connecticut Nighthawks.
Hernandez posted two goals and Scott Wargin (goal, two assists, pictured) and Patrick Kelly (three assists) registered three points each.
Jordan Foster and Zak Johnson had a goal and an assist apiece and Travis McConnell added a single goal.
Lindeman took the win in net with a 14-save performance.
Wrapping the event Sunday morning, Timmons turned aside 16 shots as the Blaze were shut out by the Carolina Eagles.
The Blaze next play on the road this coming weekend against the Kalkaska Rhinos. Game times are 6 p.m. CST Friday and Saturday and then noon on Sunday.
