Week 8 - NCDC Players of the Week

Forward of the Week
Mark Cheremeta, Islanders Hockey Club

Mark scored the power play game winning goal in the second win of the weekend at Syracuse and added another goal and assist later in the game.  One of the most skilled players available for college coaches, the 99 from Parkland, FL is in his second year with the IHC and is second in team scoring.  Averaging over a point per game for the 18-1 Islanders, Mark is a huge reason for the teams success and is a poster child for moving up the USPHL ladder of development.

Defenseman of the Week
JJ Layton, Islanders Hockey Club

JJ Layton kept up his spectacular play of the 17-18 season with a goal and an assist in two wins over the Syracuse Stars.  JJ has had a terrific season leading the IHC in plus/minus with a +18.  He also has scored 8 goals and added 7 assists for 15 points in 20 games from the blue line.

Goalie of the Week
Conor O’Brien, CT Jr. Rangers

Conor O'Brien (2-0-0 .47 GAA 1 Shutout) logged his league leading 10th and 11th win this past weekend in grand fashion against the Rochester Monarchs. Turning aside 20 of 21 shots in a 2-1 OTW on Saturday night. He then recorded his first Shutout of the season on Sunday in a 3-0 win stopping 22 shots from the Monarchs. Conor has been the backbone of the CT Jr Rangers all season long, he continues to rank among the top goalies in NCDC in Win, Shots, Saves and Save %.
