Boston, MA – The USPHL is proud to announce that the Twin City Thunder will join its Premier North Division for the upcoming 2018-2019 season. The Thunder will play out of Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn, Maine. With this addition it will make the Thunder the first team in Maine and will expand the USPHL blueprint to 17 out of 50 states.
“This is just one step towards our expansion plans and we are excited to be able to bring junior hockey to Maine. Our programs are built to allow kids to bring their hockey dreams to life at the collegiate level and can’t wait for Maine to have that chance,” states Commissioner Gallant.
“We are excited to bring high level junior hockey to Maine. The Thunder will currently only focus on operating a junior program, however we are committed to supporting all of the youth programs across the state. The team is currently in the process of hiring coaching staff, coordinating host families and ironing out schooling for the players for the upcoming season,” states Benjamin Gray.

The United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL), which operates in 17 of the 50 United States, is the Nation’s largest amateur ice hockey league. The league is comprised of 170 teams. Players in the USPHL are 8 to 21 years of age. Overall, the USPHL has had over 300 players advance to the collegiate level; even more advanced to other levels of the game.
