Charlotte, NC: The Charlotte Rush finished up their annual Movember campaign, raising $8,941 which is the most in team history. The Movember foundation raises funds and awareness for men’s health including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Rush players from both the Elite and Premier team sported mustaches throughout the month of November to help raise awareness. Captain Nicolas Yzaguirre led the way raising $1,000 while Jestin Somero, Chandler Judd and Nick Godfrey all raised over $400 each. “I am very proud of our guys, this was a complete team effort for a very important issue. I continue to be amazed by our players character and their efforts throughout the community. The amount of money raised for this Movember campaign is even more impressive because they also took on another fund-raising effort for their teammate Matt Headland and his family. In the last weeks of Movember we received tragic news about Matt’s Mom and the team created a go fund me account and have raised over $20,000 in a very short period of time. The family culture and dynamic within our organization and our alumni is remarkable and I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by great young men.” GM Ryan Cruthers on his organizations Movember campaign.
