We are officially six months away from the start of a very exciting 2019 Fall Beantown Classic.
The Beantown Classic is happy to announce that the High Performance Hockey League (www.hphl.us) and six full-time members have committed to attend its fall event this October, running from Oct. 24-27.
The Beantown Classic is run out of the super complex eight-rink New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Mass. This will be the 16th year of the event. In the past, all of the HPHL teams have participated at one time or another on their own, but this is the first time the league has agreed to send its full swath of teams at the 15U, 16U and 18U levels to the event.
Tournament Director Peter Masters has announced that he is changing the playing format for the first time in its history from a “winner take all” tournament format to a showcase event.
In addition to the HPHL teams participating, the normal contingent of full-season USPHL Midget teams and half-season EHF Selects teams, their affiliates and guest teams, will be on hand for a terrific weekend of hockey.
This showcase traditionally attracts north of 140 scouts from the NHL, college, junior and prep schools, as well as NHL agents. Additionally, all the games at the New England Sports Center will be broadcast live on HockeyTV.com.
“With the addition of the HPHL teams, this will be one of the best-scouted events we have ever hosted,” said Peter Masters.
