Cougars alumni Forward Roy Aharonovich, or should we say, World Champion Roy Aharonovich, has won the IIHF Division 2B World Championship as a member of his native Team Israel!

The tournament took place last week in Mexico City with Israel competing against other IIHF countries as part of the Division 2B World Championship. Roy suited up for the 3rd time in his career and registered 2 Points on a Goal and an Assist in 5 Games Played during the tournament. He has a total of 12 Points in 15 total World Championship games played over the last 3 years and the first time he will be called Champion!

Israel got the job done winning the tournament and will advance now to the Division 2A pool for next year's World Championship! Roy was competing alongside his brother Tomer and father is also a staff member for the team.

After playing for the Cougars during the 2016-17 season Roy scored 36 Points in 33 Games Played in the USPHL before being courted by many NCAA programs to attend school at their institution. Roy currently attends school and plays for NCAA Division 3 Bryn Athyn College after transferring from Neumann University his Freshman year.

Congrats to Roy and his family on this tremendous honor and keep making us proud!
