Cape Cod Whalers’ Kramer twins excited about commitment to Providence

The Kramer twins - Joseph and Peter - of the Cape Cod Whalers have committed to Providence College, and they couldn’t be more thrilled!

“We are both very excited to be committed to Providence College,” Whalers right winger Joseph Kramer told “I’m excited to see what the future holds and can’t wait to see where this leads us.”

His brother Peter concurred.

“We were blown away by the coaching staff, facilities and everything the school has to offer,” said Peter.

Joseph Kramer (three goals and four assists) led the Whalers in points last fall in EHF Selects league play with seven. Both Joseph and Peter attend and play for B.C. High, but they have a very long history with the Whalers coaching staff.

“I have coached the Kramer twins since they were 7 years old,” Whalers head coach Bob Beniers said. “They are two of the hardest workers on the team. They are extremely coachable and give you 110 percent every time they step on the ice, whether in a game or practice. Their success is a direct result of their hard work on and off the ice. Great kids and teammates.”

Whalers Executive President Rick Coan concurred and had rave reviews for both players.

“[Joseph] is confident with the puck on his stick. He is able to shield off defenders moving his way to the net. He has a good presence and vision on the rush,” said Coan. “He is able to process the play quickly, exploiting where the defense is the softest and exploit it with either a shot or a seam pass. He’s not afraid to lay out for his teammates, diving to recover the puck, laying down to block a shot. Very selfless play.”

“[Peter is] a pest in the offensive zone. Loves to battle and rarely loses one, hard on pucks every shift,” Coan added. “Peter sees the ice very well, especially in transition. He has a quick release and shoots through traffic, plays under control at max speed. He plays hard and fast and has the ability to beat defenders wide. Peter will go to the net hard, skating through the opponent.”

The USPHL congratulations Peter and Joseph Kramer on their college commitment and wish them the best of luck in their future!
