Maxim on playing for the Generals , "Playing for the Richmond Generals was a fabulous experience and provided me with a ton odf opportunities for professional development. It was always my goal to progress to play NCAA college hockey and I can honestly say that after playing with the Richmond Generals , I received multiple college offers with scholarship opportunities. Because I am from Russia, I had a pretty harsh adaptation period at the beginning of the season, it was a pretty big culture shock for me. However my teammates and coaching staff from the Generals explained everything to me and were helping me along during my entire season. It was still a real challenge , but I grew tremendously as a person and player with the help of my team and coaches. Overall my season was a great time and I became part of a family along the way and learned a lot of new things. I really enjoyed being a General and will always cherish the friendships and memories I made along the way. "

Maxim becomes the 18th Generals player this year to commit to a college hockey program for next season and the 167th Generals player in 8 years to commit to a college program. He joins current and former Generals players Mac Wiseman ( UCONN NCAA Division 1 ), Zac Jones ( UMASS NCAA Division 1 ), Sammy Steele ( Arizona State NCAA Division 1 ), Dominic Base ( Colorado College NCAA Division 1 ),Thomas Rocco ( St. Cloud University NCAA Division 1 ),Collin Heinnold ( University of New England NCAA Division 3 ), Matt Jahn ( Cortland State NCAA Division 3 ),Aidan Richardson ( Lebannon Valley College NCAA Division 3 ), Trevor Dixon ( Kings College NCAA Division 3 ), Tristan Hillebert ( Chatham University NCAA Division 3 ), DJ Paxson ( Morrisville State NCAA Division 3 ), Joey Sabatino ( Maryville University ACHA Division 1 ), Jackson Karcz ( Gonzaga University ACHA Division 1 ), Nick Smith ( Mercyhurst University ACHA Division 1 ), Benjamin Carlson ( Montana State University ACHA Division 2), Zach Householder ( University of Kentucky ACHA Division 2 ), Louis Mustian ( Virginia Military Institute ACHA Division 2 ).
