DECATUR, Ill. – The Decatur Blaze announced today the signing of defenseman Dan Stasso for the 2019-20 USPHL season.
Stasso is a native of Cambridge, Ont., and won’t turn 17 until Dec. 5.
“Coming to Decatur was an easy decision for me,” Stasso said. “They are a team that the community supports and is a fun atmosphere to play in. I had other junior opportunities, but I felt Coach (Zac) Pearson provided me with the best opportunity for me to develop and work on my game.
“I’m excited to come to Decatur to start my junior career.”
Pearson can’t wait to get Stasso to town.
“I’m expecting Dan to play a lot of minutes,” said Pearson. “He’s a good, young player with lots of skill and will help us on the power play.”
Last season, Stasso compiled four assists in 27 games with the Victus Academy 18U club.
