Toledo OH: The Toledo Cherokee proud members of the USPHL Premier and Great Lakes Division open the regular season home schedule this Saturday night when they play host to the Detroit Fighting Irish at 7:30PM at the Team Toledo Ice House.
The Cherokee home opener will be in conjunction with GTAHA Day at the Ice House, all of the Cherokee youth hockey teams will be playing this Saturday. The schedule of events is below.
"This is always a special game for our organization, as a team we get to open up at home in front of all of our fans as well as our youth hockey teams." Said head coach Kenny Miller
Admission for the home opener will be FREE with a bottle of shampoo or body wash.
"Every year we open up with our annual soap game, this is a good cause as the guys use the soap and shampoo throughout the season after practices and games." Added Miller
Toledo is coming off a 5-1 win last weekend when they traveled to Columbus to take on the expansion Mavericks in the first game of the 2019-2020 season.
GTAHA Day will begin at 9:00am and run thru the Cherokee game that evening, some of the special events that will take place are kids games in parking lot, entertainment, tailgating and plenty of raffles.
