Will Woodruff, Cyclones Academy Premier
Woodruff (‘03/Bloomingdale, N.Y.) had a big weekend at the Hitmen Classic in New Jersey, posting three goals in his three games there, including the game-winning goal against the Skipjacks Hockey Club on Monday. In his seven games played this season, he has only missed the scoresheet once, and stands with 10 points in seven games.
Cole McCulley, Palmyra Black Knights
Palmyra moved to 2-1-1 with a win, loss and tie at the Hitmen Classic. The Black Knights’ McCulley (‘03/Hummelstown, Pa.) scored four goals - including two in the opener against the host Jersey Hitmen - at the Hitmen Classic last weekend.
He also had goals against the Junior Bruins (shorthanded) and Skipjacks Hockey Club to give him a team-leading four goals and four points for the season.
Defense: Joseph Ariola, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders
Ariola (‘04/Malverne, N.Y.) has been an offensive and defensive standby for the Jr. Islanders since joining this season. He has two goals and seven assists for nine points through seven league games.
The Jr. Islanders were busy at the Hitmen Classic, playing four games in three days. Ariola racked up all of his points in the first three, including a goal and four assists in their opener against the Charleston Colonials.
Defensively, he has helped the Jr. Islanders to a 2.02 team goals against average through their first seven games.
Goaltender: Gregory Addison, Charleston Colonials
The Colonials, Affiliate members of the USPHL 16U Division, came to the Hitmen Classic for five games and performed admirably there, going 2-2-1. The ‘03 from Monks Corner, S.C., earned the two wins in net, stopping 25 of 26 in each of their wins against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers Red team and the Potomac Patriots.
He finished the weekend with a record of 2-0, a goals against average of 1.00 and a .962 save percentage.
