By USPHL Staff/, 11/07/19, 2:45PM EST

Forward: Walker Smith, Decatur Blaze

Smith, an ‘02 from Castle Rock, Colo., scored nine points over three games to help Decatur to a 3-0 sweep of the Motor City Hockey Club.

On Friday, he had two goals including the overtime game-winner. He then had two goals and four assists in a decisive Saturday win, before scoring a goal in a 3-0 victory.

A former Florida Jr. Blades 16U player, Smith now has 20 points through Decatur’s first 12 games.

Defense: Jordan Stear, Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings

Second-year blueliner Jordan Stear (‘01/Frisco, Texas) continues to eat up the Midwest Division having four points on the weekend. He now has 22 points in just 16 games this season, and he is a mainstay on the defenseman points leaders in the entire 51-team USPHL Premier.

Stear also played shutdown D in his own end without being on the ice for any goals against this past weekend.

Goaltender: Andrew Kelly, Lansing Wolves

Kelly (‘00/Hatfield, Pa.) beat the Metro Jets and Toledo Cherokee in back-to-back starts. In his start on Saturday vs. Toledo, Kelly made 37 saves including stopping all three Toledo shooters in a 4-3 shootout win.

“Andrew has been outstanding all season and continues to show he’s one of the league’s best night in and night out,” said Wolves Head Coach and General Manager Dennis Canfield. “He keeps our club in games and our team feeds off his energy.”
