Forward: Tie

Cade Baker, Skipjacks Hockey Club

The Utica Jr. Comets won’t forget the name of Cade Baker. The ‘03 out of York, Pa., was a headache for them all weekend long. In the end, he had six goals and one assist in his two games against utica. The first was a two-goal, one-assist, including the overtime winner.

He also potted four out of the Skipjacks’ five goals in a 5-2 win on Sunday. He improved to 20 points in 14 USPHL games this year, his second as a 16U Skipjack.

Jack Pechar, CP Dynamo

Pechar, an ‘05 from Niskayuna, N.Y., earning call-up games from the CP Dynamo Bantam Major team, scored a hat trick in his fourth 16U game against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers Red team. Along with a 1-1-2 line from a mid-November game, he now has five points in his four 16U contests.

Defense: Brendan Kimball, Islanders Hockey Club

The Islanders started December with three wins over both the Philadelphia Hockey Club and the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs. Kimball helped the D corps secure the wins, but also chipped in on the offensive end. He earned two assists against the Monarchs, and two goals and one assist in the two games against Philadelphia for a busy five-point weekend.

Goaltender: Michael Shelley Jr., Potomac Patriots

Shelley, a Stafford, Va., native who was born on the final day of 2005, had one of his biggest 16U wins this season. He stopped 48 of 49 shots from the Rockets Hockey Club Grey team to give the Patriots their fourth victory of the season. He also has a 45-save shutout to his credit this year.
