Toledo OH: The Toledo Cherokee proud members of the USPHL Premier Division of the Great Lakes Conference return to action this weekend when they travel to the state capital to take on the Columbus Mavericks on Saturday night. Face off is set for 6:30PM at the Chiller in Dublin OH.
The Cherokee were idle this past weekend. Toledo hasn't played a game since the Boston Showcase the first weekend in January where they went 2-2 on the weekend.
"Our showcase weekend started out good by winning the first two games but we didn't play our best the last two games so we need to get back to playing the way we are capable this Saturday night." Said head coach Kenny Miller
Toledo currently sits in third place in the Great Lakes division with forty-seven points. The Cherokee trail first place Pittsburgh by eight points and second place Metro by four points.
"We have ten games left before the playoffs start so as a group we need to make sure we are getting better every day and playing our best hockey down the stretch as we head into the postseason." Added Miller
The Cherokee will finally return home next Friday night January 24th when they take on the Lansing Wolves. Toledo has played twelve straight games on the road spanning from November 22nd till this Saturday.
