USPHL Midget Showcase Day 1 Highlights

The 2020 USPHL Winter Showcase kicked off Friday at the Bridgewater Sports Arena (Bridgewater, N.J.), Rock Ice Center (Dunellen, N.J.), and the Hollydell Ice Arena in Sewell, N.J. Here’s a sampling of how the opening day went:


Cole Wienger and Nate Cieszynski each had a goal and Thomas McKiernan had two assists in a 2-1 win for CP Dynamo over the Skipjacks. Ethan Hoover had a goal and Spencer Bellina assisted on the lone goal for the Skipjacks.


The Twin City Lightning took care of business beating the Northern Cyclones 8-0. Dominic Chasse had two goals and an assist; Daniels Murniecks lit the lamp once and had two helpers; Scott Bugarin scored twice; Jason Csejka and Willets Meyer each had a goal and an assist and Hunter Stewart also scored the Bolts.


The host New Jersey Rockets beat the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs in a spirited 3-1 Rockets win. Chris McGuaran lit the lamp twice and had an assist and Jack Quigley scored for the Rockets. Jason Gordon scored the lone goal for the Monarchs.


The Rockets also beat Somang 9-2. Joey Trobenter had two goals and three assists; Jake Stapert had two goals and an assist; Adam Seborowski had a goal and an assist; and Nate Biron, Nick Ciampitti, Skylar Miller and Jack Quigley each lit the lamp for the Rockets. Jimi VanderLinden and Domenic Savard each scored for Somang.




The Philadelphia Hockey Club beat the Islanders Hockey Club-North 4-2. Tyson Henson lit the lamp twice for Philly and Corey Owens and Conor Milliken each had a goal. Cory McNally had a goal and an assist for the Isles and Jules Donovan lit the lamp as well. 


CP Dynamo beat Rockets Grey 9-4. For the Dynamo, Jack Pechar and Michael Suozzi each scored two goals and had an assist; Hunter Atkinson lit the lamp twice; Troy Pelton and Colin Merkle both had a goal and two assists; Dean Fox lit the lamp and Jordan Dickinson had two helpers. Jonathan Hutorsky scored twice and had an assist and Tanner Clemson also scored twice for the Rockets Grey.


The Boston Bandits beat the Potomac Patriots 3-0 behind goals from Domenic Mauretti, Carter Mento and Dominic DelGrosso and a shutout from Gary Mandia.
