Congratulations to the Players Of The Week representing the USPHL Premier North Region, comprised of the New England, North East and Mid-Atlantic Divisions.

Forward: John Gutt, Utica Jr. Comets

Gutt (‘01/Middletown, N.J.) has seen scoring success at every stop he’s made in the USPHL since entering the league as a Jersey Shore Whalers 15U player in 2016. This year, he’s been lighting up the USPHL Premier, and he’s scored 60 points in 35 games.

Starting with Jan. 26, Gutt has scored 12 points in his last five games - and six of those points came over the Feb. 8-9 weekend. He posted a hat trick and an assist Sunday against the Buffalo Jr. Thunder, one day after registering a pair of assists.

Defense: Wyatt Wong, Rockets Hockey Club

Eight wins in a row, and nine victories in their last 10 games. Rocket is a perfect term for what this team has done since the start of 2020, pushing their way into third place overall in the 51-team USPHL Premier Division.

Wong (‘00/Glendale, Calif.) has been a staple for the Rockets from the start this year, posting two goals and 21 points through 35 games this year. He posted a goal and five assists for a six-point total over this past weekend, and he is the Rockets’ total time on ice leader (656:28), and he sports an astounding +45 in plus-minus rating.

Goaltender: Jackson Shulmistra, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Shulmistra (‘01/Cary, N.C.) has been playing some of his best hockey of the season since the start of February, including a win over a Utica Jr. Comets team that is currently 18 points ahead of the Jr. Rangers in the Northeast Division standings. He made 40 saves on 41 shots for the win in that Feb. 1 game, and four days later, Shulmistra stopped 37 of 39 shots against the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders for his third victory of the season.

Overall, his 77 saves on 79 shots gave him a .975 save percentage for the two games. Overall, he is 3-1-0-0 with a 2.09 goals against average and a .940 save percentage on the season.
