Congratulations to our 16U Players of the Week:
Matus Hadusovsy, Springfield Pics
Hadusovsky (‘03/Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia) finished fourth in league scoring overall, but he was also the USPHL 16U’s top goal-scorer, registering 41 over the course of the season. He bypassed his teammate and the league’s leading scorer Carter Hanrahan by one thanks to a five-goal weekend to close the regular season during a sweep of the Jersey Shore Whalers Premier team.
He also added two assists and finished with 41 goals and 67 points in just 27 USPHL 16U league games.
Gleb Veremyev, Rockets Hockey Club
The Rockets ended the regular season with a sound win over the Boston Junior Bruins, a team they could face deep into the USPHL 16U Playoffs in Springfield, Mass., this weekend. The Rockets’ ‘03 standout from Sayreville, N.J., is already a Penn State recruit for a reason - he is productive, and then he adds more production on top of that.
Against the Junior Bruins, he posted three goals and two assists for five points to end the season with 27 points in 18 USPHL games played.
Defense: Trey Scott, Boston Junior Bruins
Scott (‘04/Beverly, Mass.) closed out the regular season by scoring a goal and an assist for two of his three points on the season from the blue line. Over the course of the year, Scott and his fellow blueliners helped the Junior Bruins to just a 2.18 goals against average.
Goaltender: Andrej Julinek, Springfield Pics
The Pics not only swept the Whalers Premier team in their final weekend, but they shut them out in both games, with Julinek (‘03/Novy Zamky, Slovakia) posting 57 saves on 57 shots for the double doughnuts, i.e., twin shutouts.
