DECATUR, Ill. – The Decatur Blaze, proud member of the United States Premier Hockey League, today announced the signing of forward Cody Wild for the 2020-21 USPHL season.

Wild, a 2003-born native of Parker, Colo., comes to the Blaze from the 16U AAA Monument Hockey Academy in Monument Colo., competing in the East Coast Elite League.

Prior to last season, Wild played AAA for the Colorado Rampage in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League.

“Choosing to play for the Decatur Blaze was an easy decision to make,” said Wild. “I wanted a place where I could develop my game and skill to become a better hockey player. I felt the Blaze would give me the best opportunity to continue my development and achieve my goals.”

Blaze coach-GM Zac Pearson agrees that Wild has the potential to take advantage of development opportunities offered by the Blaze. He looks for Wild to take an increasingly larger role as the season progresses.

Wild went on to acknowledge those that helped him on his hockey journey.

“I want to thank all my coaches, friends and family for supporting me all these years and many years to come,” he said.
