"Playing for the Richmond Generals was a great experience for me and really helped me to understand the game of hockey and grow as a player and young man both on and off the ice," said Ragas. "I have really learned so many valuable life lessons over my time with the Generals that I know will help me be prepared as I continue my hockey journey. I know I have matured and improved so much as a player in my time here and I cannot thank the Generals Coaching Staff, Rink Staff, Billet Families, Fans and my Teammates for all they have done to help me along the way. One of the biggest things I will remember of my time in Richmond is being taught the value of being a family and how important that truly is not only in hockey but in life. I am so glad I had the opportunity to play my Junior hockey career in Richmond and will forever be grateful and proud to be a part of the Generals family! #RollGens"
"I have had the privilege of working with Iggy for the last four years and watching him grow from a young boy to the man he has become today," said Generals Head Coach and General Manager R.C. Lyke. "Iggy's work ethic, compete level and desire to improve on the ice has always been contagious and he always leads by example with his play. Iggy is never outworked or out-skated when he is on the ice, and wins his battles all over consistently shift in and shift out. Iggy is an excellent two way skating forward who is strong on draws and excellent in both ends of the ice. Iggy has an extremely strong skill set that gives him the ability to play in all situations during a game. Iggy was a very sought after player at the NCAA Division 3 level this season and I am very excited to see him land with Elmira College and my friend Aaron Saul. I look forward to watching Iggy take the next step in his hockey career and cannot Thank him enough for all he has done to help our program both on and off the ice in his time as a General. The Generals would like to wish him and the Elmira Soaring Eagles continued success in the future."
