Toledo Ohio: The Toledo Cherokee proud members of the USPHL Premier (Great Lakes Conference) are excited to announce the return of forward Brendan Higgins for the 2020-2021 season.
Higgins was a member of the Cherokee during the 2018-19 season where he scored six goals and added three assists for nine points in thirty-eight games. The South Rockford MI native spent last season playing with the Detroit Fighting Irish where he suited up in thirty-eight games scoring twenty-seven goals and adding thirty-seven assists for sixty-four points.
"Higgy is a skilled player that has the ability to put points up every time he hits the ice, he can also play with some jam and can bring a psychical aspect to our lineup, adding a guy with his offensive ability and toughness will be huge for our program." Said head coach Kenny Miller "He is familiar with our program and how we run things here in Toledo and as a third year junior player we will count on him to provide leadership to our younger guys as the season moves along."
Higgins Prati joins Tyler Fox (F), Bryce Davis (F), Caleb Williams (F), Ondrej Dupal (F), Mitchell Dickman (F), Jake Ruehle (D), Nate Brown (D), Jimmy Roberts (F), Michael Bushell (D), Carter Minch (D), Mason Snyder (G), Seth Orozco (D), Jack Lundkvist (G), Jarrett Henson (D), Dominik McNamara (D), Christopher Strasen (G), Bailey Byrd (F) Jake Rhoades (F), Devin Stroia (F), David Crandall, (D) Zeth Stelmaszak (F), Aiden Surovic (F), Kyle Kucway (F) and Steven Prati (G) as players committed to the Cherokee for the upcoming season. The Cherokee open the USPHL season on Friday September 25th in Columbus to take on the Mavericks. The Cherokee will host Columbus on Saturday September 26th at 8:30PM at the Team Toledo Ice House in conjunction with GTAHA day for the home opener.
