DETROIT – With its recent signing of Kyler Bayes, not only does the Motor City Hockey Club add depth to its goaltenders, but also USPHL experience.
Bayes, a 2002-born native of Harlan, Indiana, played for the Toledo Cherokee in 2019-20.
After the season, Bayes wanted to explore his options and found Motor City.
“I went out to the tryout to check out the program and find a good place to play,” said Bayes. “Motor City seemed like the perfect fit for me, and I was excited to get the opportunity to join the team.
“Motor City holds a great track record of developing solid hockey players and people. The team focuses on building a better hockey player, on and off ice. I have always heard good things about the program on how they can help me get to the next level.”
Motor City coach-GM Jason McCrimmon sees unlimited potential in Bayes.
“I'm looking for Kyler to come in and be a solid force between the pipes,” McCrimmon said. “We will continue to develop him on and off the ice with our goalie coach throughout the season. Kyler is a great addition to Motor City as we rebound from last season.”
Heading into the 2020-21 season, Bayes has his priorities in order and reachable goals in sight.
“I will bring a good work ethic, as well as positivity, both on and off ice,” Bayes said. “I want to work hard and give everything I have to become a better hockey player. I want a good season so I can start looking to colleges for the future.
“I want to develop my game so I can work on getting to the next level.”
