USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: Midwest Region

Forwards: Tie

Scott Jiskra, Hudson Havoc 

In the Havoc’s lone game of the weekend and kick off to the regular season, Jiskra (‘01/New Brighton, Minn.) showed that he was in Hudson to make his presence felt. In his first game with the Havoc and within the USPHL, Jiskra had two goals and two assists to help lead the Havoc over the Vipers. 


Bailey Byrd, Toledo Cherokee

Byrd (‘01/Wyandotte, Mich.) - a Jersey Hitmen NCDC Draft Pick - kicked off the season by helping the Cherokee go 4-0 at the Detroit Showcase. Overall, he posted four goals and four assists for eight points, including a three-point performance against the three-time defending Midwest East champion Chicago Cougars. He leads all Premier scorers with 14 points in six games played.

“Bailey is a veteran player that had a really good weekend, and his hard-work paid off this weekend on the scoresheet,” added Head Coach Kenny Miller. 


Defense: Trenton Skaggs, Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings

Skaggs (‘02/Oconomowoc, Wis.) - an NCDC Draft Pick of the Utica Jr. Comets - started the season strong with two goals and two assists for four points, helping the Riverkings won both games for the sweep against Rum River.


Goaltender: Tyler Dorion, Columbus Mavericks

Dorion (‘00/Pickerington, Ohio) went 2-0, making 36 saves on 38 shots in two games, including a shutout win over the Midwest Blackbirds. The Mavericks not only earned their first win in the Detroit Showcase, but went 4-0 for the first time in franchise history.
