The UMass-Lowell commit from Kansas City, Mo., pushed himself to No. 1 in the USPHL’s scoring leaderboard with a two-goal, two-assist weekend in a sweep of Philadelphia. He had two goals and an assist in Saturday’s game, including the first goal and insurance goal, and he assisted on Jonathan Wescoe’s game-winner. On Friday, he assisted on Connor Tait’s insurance goal. He has a 5-5-10 line and has only been held scoreless once in his first six games.
Defense: Artyom Borshyov, Northern Cyclones
The 2000-born Belarussian and Lake Superior State University commit gave the Cyclones their first win with his overtime game-winning goal at 4:44 against the Junior Bruins. Borshyov also assisted on the Cyclones’ first goal to get the team on the board with a 1-0 lead at the time. He was a +2 in the game and leads the team in ice time through the first two games. He has averaged 30:11 of ice time in his first two games.
Goaltender: Matthew O’Donnell, Rockets Hockey Club
In O’Donnell’s first junior game, the longtime former Chicago Mission and ‘02 from Waterbury, Conn., stopped 39 of 40 shots by the Philadelphia Hockey Club to secure the 4-1 victory, the league-leading Rockets’ fifth in six games.
