After a weekend sweep of the Rochester Vipers winning 12-1 and 8-2 the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings climb the standings to 1st place in the Midwest-West Division in the USPHL boasting a 11-2-1 Record and continuing a 7 game win streak. Riverking’s players Hogan Boyle, Joseph Blair, and newcomer Jacob Jakusz all scored their first junior goals this weekend. Along with strong performances from veteran Riverking Players, Cole Creger and Jordan Stear, both putting up multipoint games this weekend. Reece McDonald scored on a penalty shot dangling the goalie and stuffing it in the back of the net for the go-ahead goal and securing the win on game two versus the Vipers. All 4 Riverking goalies got the chance to play and all 4 made the most out of it, all aiding in the ensured win for the Riverkings.
With the Riverkings coming off a strong weekend, they look to take this energy out on the Wisconsin Dells Ducks starting with a home game on Saturday, November 21st at the South Wood County Recreation Center. The puck drops at 7 pm. Then on Sunday, November 22nd the Riverkings take a short road trip to the Poppy Waterman Arena in Wisconsin Dells to play the Ducks for game 2 of the short series with the puck drop at 5:30 pm. The Riverkings look to continue their win streak next weekend, so make sure to come on down and watch the action before the team heads off for Thanksgiving break.
