NORTH REGION

New England Division

Wednesday, November 11

Islanders Hockey Club 4, Bridgewater Jr. Bandits 3 – Jack Kresl (‘01/Denver, Colo) put the Isles up 4-2 with what appeared to be an insurance goal with less than five minutes to play. The insurance paid off when a last-minute Bandits’ tally turned it into the game-winner.

Twin City Thunder 5, New Hampshire Junior Monarchs 4 (OT) – Jack Saavedra (‘01/Mishawka, Ind.) pulled Thunder even with his goal 41 seconds from the final buzzer and Dawson Gendreau (‘02/Scarborough, Maine) completed the comeback with the overtime winner. 

 

Thursday, November 12

South Shore Kings 4, Islanders Hockey Club 2 – Mason Joseph (‘03/Harrisville, R.I.) was the catalyst in this win, turning in a 48-save effort to lead his club to a win despite being outshot 50-22. Drew Arpin (‘01/East Bridgewater, Mass.) sank the game-winner, snapping a 2-2 deadlock with 9:38 to play in the contest. 

Boston Advantage 4, Springfield Pics 3 – The Advantage charged back from a 3-1 deficit with three unanswered third period goals. The first two from Anthony Survilas (‘01/Salem, N.H.) and the game-winner fired by Anthony Larkin (‘01/Canton, Mass.) with 3:02 to play. 

 

Friday, November 13 

Junior Bruins 6, South Shore Kings 1 – Six different shooters stepped up for the Bruins including Zach Kayton (‘01/Cooper City, Fla.) with the game winner in the game’s 10th minute. 

Springfield Pics 2, Bridgewater Jr. Bandits 1 (OT) – Oliver Cookson (‘00/Sheffield, Mass.) scored the overtime game winner and Matthew Jonas (‘01/Glastonbury, Conn.) stopped all but one of 43 he faced in goal for the Pics. 

 

Saturday, November 14 

Springfield Pics 5, Junior Bruins 3 – The Pics grabbed its second win of the weekend and pulled to within two points of the division leading Bruins. Timofey Basarab (‘02/Lutsk, Ukraine) broke a 3-3 deadlock with his second of the game 3:56 from the end. The Pics are on a 2-0 streak. 

 

Monday, November 16

Bridgewater Jr. Bandits 4, South Shore Kings 1 - Peyton Hughes (‘00/North Bridge, Calif.) posted a goal and two assists as the Bandits improved to 1-0-1 in their last couple games. 

 

Mid-Atlantic Division

Monday, November 9

Philadelphia HC 4, Jersey Hitmen 3 – Gage Garcher (‘02/Colorado Springs, Colo.) snapped a 3-3 deadlock just 11 seconds from the final buzzer lifting host team to its third and final lead of the contest. 

 

Wednesday, November 11

Rockets Hockey Club 9, Jersey Hitmen 2 – Harris Blackwood (‘01/Hagerstown, Md.) scored three, Griffin Connell (‘01/Ypsilante, Mich.) and Alex Vouras (‘02/Bristow, Va.) adding two apiece in this one while Wyatt Wong (’00/Glendale, Calif) counted the game-winner in a big win for the Rockets. 

 

Friday, November 13

Rockets HC 7, Utica Jr. Comets 3 – Dylan Castello (‘00/Colonia, N.J.) fired three goals including the game winner and Griffin Connell (‘01/Ypsilanti, Mich.) notched a pair for the Rockets, Anthony Morin (‘00/Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) responding with two for the Comets.

 

Elmira Enforcers 5, Skipjacks HC 2 – Drake Reid (‘02/Anchorage, Alaska) scored twice for the Enforcers and Rajah Mueller (‘01/Meridan, Conn.) as Elmira started a weekend set in York, Pa. 

 

Jersey Hitmen 4, Philadelphia HC 3  – Andrew DePascale (‘01/Parlin, N.J.) thought he added insurance in the final two minutes but his goal ended up being the game winner after Thomas Odermatt (‘01/Sapporo, Japan) notched one more for Philly just 11 seconds from the buzzer.

 

Saturday November 14

Rockets HC 7, Utica Jr. Comets 1 – The Rockets wrapped up a weekend sweep on home ice with a pair of goals from Wyatt Wong (‘00/Glendale, Calif.) and the game-winner from Charlie Wojcik (‘01/Fairfax Station, Va.) The Rockets have now won eight games in a row.

Elmira Enforcers 5, Skipjacks HC 0 – Joseph Wiese (‘01/Brownstown, Mich.) stopped all 20 shots he faced, and Muller scored the first and final goals for the Enforcer for the weekend sweep.

 

Monday, November 16

Philadelphia Hockey Club 8, Jersey Hitmen 4 - Markus Odermatt (‘00/Sapporo, Japan) sank one goal and two assists, and Kristers Klavins (‘01/Riga, Latvia) assisted on three other goals. With this win, Philadelphia pulled into a three-way tie with Toledo and Pueblo for first overall in points in the USPHL Premier. 

 

SOUTH REGION

Southeast Division

Friday, November 13

Carolina Junior Hurricanes 5, Charleston Colonials 2 – The first game of a three-game weekend meeting saw the host Canes grab control with a three-goal middle period, including the game winner from Jacob Schnapp (‘00/Tampa, Fla.)

 

Saturday, November 14 

Richmond Generals 3, Charlotte Rush 2 – The Generals rallied back from a 2-1 deficit with two unanswered third period goals including the game winner from Josh Weber (‘00/Canton, Mich.) just past the period’s halfway point.

 

Potomac Patriots at Hampton Roads Whalers – Pietro Baccarin (‘01/Padova, Italy) fired three, Eric Gibboney (‘02/Salt Lake City, Utah) adding a pair and the game winner came from Tylor Greene (‘01/Colorado Springs, Colo.) as the Whalers took the first half of a home and home set by a big margin.

 

Charleston Colonials 2, Carolina Junior Hurricanes 1 (SO) – Bryce Battaglia (‘02/Gretna, Neb.) scored with 2:33 to play sending the game to overtime and Nigel Morris (‘02/Charlottetown, P.E.I.) notched the lone shootout goal to complete the come from behind effort Colonials.

 

Sunday, November 15

Charlotte Rush 4, Richmond Generals 1 – Jenson Lopez (‘02/Franklin, Tenn.) scored the first of three middle period goals for the Rush which stood up as the game-winner, helped by David Battisti (‘01/Victor, N.Y.) kicking aside 29 of 30 shots he faced in goal.

Carolina Junior Hurricanes 3, Charleston Colonials 0 @  – Jack Perna (‘00/Sykesville, Md.) picked up the shutout and Nick Constantino (‘00/Raleigh, N.C.) fired the first of three Canes’ goals, all in the middle period. The ‘Canes 2-0-0-1 weekend put them on top of the Southeast Division by four points. 

Hampton Roads Whalers @ Potomac Patriots – The Whalers wrapped up a weekend sweep with a big road win, led by three goals each from Baccarin and Kyle Watson (‘00/Wakefield, England), Watson with the game winner. The Whalers are on a three-game winning streak. 

 

Monday, November 16

Richmond Generals 6, Charlotte Rush 5 - The Generals scored five straight unanswered goals to come back from a 5-1 deficit for the win. Matt Wood (‘00/Garnet Valley, Pa.) posted a 2-2-4 line and Carter Jordan (‘01/Fort Collins, Colo.) scored the GWG with 1:03 remaining. 

 

Florida Division

Monday, November 9

Florida Eels 5, Atlanta Mad Hatters 1 – Tristan Roost (‘00/Fort Myers, Fla.) scored twice and Ronnie Bregante (‘00/Mastic Beach, N.Y.) notched the game winner as the Eels finished off a three-game weekend sweep of the Mad Hatters on the road. 

 

Friday, November 13 

Florida Eels 8, Tampa Bay Juniors 2 – The Eels picked up a road win in the opening game of weekend set between division co-leaders, led by Demeed Podrezov (‘00/Moscow, Russia) with a hat trick and Mikhail Melikov with the game winner.

 

Saturday, November 14 

Atlanta Mad Hatters 4, Florida Jr. Blades 3  – Three goals in the final six minutes of the middle period put the Hatters in front to stay, Ryan Bailey (‘01/Gwinnett, Ga.) with the game winner and two others from Josh Mesaros (‘01/Atlanta, Ga.)

 

Sunday, November 15 

Atlanta Mad Hatters 6, Florida Jr. Blades 4  -- Down 3-1 early in the second period, Hatters rallied with four third period goals to clinch the win and weekend sweep, including the game-winner from Dylan Florit (‘01/Manhatten Beach, Calif.)

 

Tampa Bay Juniors 4, Florida Eels 0 – A 33-save shutout from Cade Kujawski (‘00/Prior Lake, Minn.) helped the Juniors salvage a split in their weekend set with the Eels, John Heller (‘01/Trinity, Fla.) providing the game winning goal.

 

MIDWEST REGION

Great Lakes Division

Tuesday, November 10

Metro Jets 5, MJDP 3  – A crossover Division battle between Jets brothers saw the Metro Jets grabbing the win with Alex Schuamberberger (‘02/Canton, Mich.) firing the game winner.

Saturday, November 14 

Metro Jets 3, Pittsburgh Vengeance 2 – Cristian Adragna (‘01/Rochester Hills, Mich.) fired the game winner with a 3:09 to go in the first of two weekend meetings between these Great Lakes heavyweights.

 

Midwest Blackbirds 8, MHC 6  – Derek Eaton (‘03/Clackamas, Ore.) was the lone shooter for the Blackbirds with more than one goal, his second standing up as the game-winner in the third period. Anders Florek (‘00/Oakwood, Ohio) and Brandon Plummer (‘00/White Lake, Mich.) fired two each for MHC. 

Sunday, November 15 

Metro Jets 4, Pittsburgh Vengeance 2 – The Jets wrapped up a big sweep in Pittsburgh with the game winner off the stick of Will Jentz (‘01/Brighton, Mich.) late in the second period.

Midwest Blackbirds 2, MHC 1  – Dylan Thomas (‘03/Portland, Ore.) backstopped this win, turning in an awesome 51-save performance for the Blackbirds which allowed them to charge back from an early 1-0 deficit. Shane Dotto (‘00/Oak Forest, Ill.) notched the game winning goal in the sixth minute of the final period. The Blackbirds of the Midwest East are on a 3-0 run. 

 

Tuesday, November 16

Wooster Oilers 6, MHC 4 - Sebastian Smith (‘02/Pinckney, Mich.) and Nathan Kniesteadt (‘01/Dexter, Mich.) each posted a goal and two assists to help the Oilers just barely outpace the Metro Hockey Club, who at one point held a 3-2 lead.

 

Midwest East Division

Monday, November 9

Midwest Blackbirds 9, Motor City HC 3 – Derek Eaton (‘03/Clackamas, Ore.) picked up a hat trick and Shane Dotto (‘00/Oak Forest, Ill.) fired a pair with the game-winner coming from Coler Crozier (’03/Danville, Ill.) who wrapped up a three-game weekend in Detroit.

 

Saturday, November 14

MJDP 6, Detroit Fighting Irish 1  – MJDP fired two goals in each period in this Detroit area showdown, Mitchell Forton (‘00/Petoskey, Mich.) with the game winner in the opening period. 

Decatur Blaze @ Motor City HC – The Blaze captured a lopsided win thanks in part to a seven-point (3g, 4a) game for Stepan Skvirskii (‘01/Moscow, Russia). 

 

Midwest West Division

Friday, November 13 

Steele County Blades 10, Dells Ducks 5  – Down 2-0 early, the Blades stormed back in this one led by Gavin Ellis (‘02/Highland, Calif.); Jordan Nawrocki (‘02/Fairbault, Minn.) and Pierce Lee (‘02/Delta, B.C.) with two each. Adam Brown (‘02/Westmont, Ill.) responded with two for the Ducks. 

Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings at Rochester Vipers – Cole Creger (‘00/Lafayette, Colo.) and Reece McDonald (‘01/Sioux City, Iowa) collected two each, Creger notching the game winner in a lopsided win for the Riverkings. 

 

Saturday, November 14 

Steele County Blades vs. Dells Ducks – Michael Leighton (‘02/Ann Arbor, Mich.) turned in a 21-save shutout and Pierce Lee collected two more goals with Gavin Ellis (‘02/Highland, Calif) notching the game winner in a lopsided shutout win for the Blades and the weekend sweep. 

Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 6, Rochester Vipers 2 – The Riverkings wrapped up a weekend sweep on the road with six different shooters chipping in, including McDonald with his third of the weekend standing up as the game winner in the middle period. The Riverkings are on a 7-0-1-0 run.

Minnesota Blue Ox 5, Minnesota Moose 2 – Three unanswered middle period goals, including the game-winner from Hayden Masloski (‘02/Andover, Minn.) on the way to a road win against the rival Moose. The Blue Ox have now won five games in a row. 

 

Tuesday, November 17

Minnesota Moose 8, Minnesota Mullets 2

Tyler Braccini (‘01/Hanover, Minn.) scored two goals and an assist, while Isaiah Frankel (‘01/San Diego, Calif.) and James Curran (‘00/West Des Moines, Iowa) each posted 1-2-3 lines to help the Moose get back to winning ways. 

 

WEST REGION

Mountain Division

Friday, November 13

Pueblo Bulls 3, Provo Riverblades 1 – The host Riverblades carried a 1-0 lead out of the opening period but Benjamin St-Onge (‘01/Quebec City, Que.) notched the tying goal in the middle period and the game-winner 2:25 into the third. Alexander Houston (‘02/Canton, Ohio) backed it up with a 33-save effort in goal.

 

Saturday, November 14 

Pueblo Bulls 6, Provo Riverblades 0 – Blake Sprow (‘01/Burbank, Calif.) turned in a 29-save shutout and St. Onge triggered three goals, including the game-winner to pace the Bulls to a second win in Provo. The Bulls, now on a 4-0 run, are in a three-way tie for the league points lead. 

 

Pacific Division

Friday, November 13

Fresno Monsters 8, Southern Oregon Spartans 1 --  The Monsters kicked off a three-game series in Medford with two goals each from Antoine Dumoulin (‘00/St-Pierre-les-Becquets, Que.) and Nikita Eruslanov (‘00/Moscow, Russia), Eruslanov notching the game winner in the opening period.

 

Saturday, November 14 

Fresno Monsters at Southern Oregon Spartans – Kevin Brennan (‘01/Danbury, Conn.) stopped all 17 shots he faced and the Monsters got two each from: Leon Biller (‘02/Valencia, Calif.); Nick Leech (‘00/Fresno, Calif.); Triston Mirasty (‘03/Meadow Lake, Sask.) and Anton Svensson (Jongoping, Sweden) in a shutout win. 

 

Sunday, November 15 

Fresno Monsters at Southern Oregon Spartans – Monsters wrapped up a weekend sweep with another decisivewin with two goals each from Biller and Leech and the game winner fired by Paul-Edward Vollant (‘03/Trois-Rivieres, Que.) The Monsters are on a 10-0 run.  

 

USPHL ELITE

One of the busiest stretches for the USPHL Elite League saw all 10 South Region teams in action on the weekend and some big matches in the North Region as well.

South Region

Florida Division

Friday, November 13 

Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 5, Charleston Colonials 3  – Down 3-2 , the Canes struck, for three goals in the final 6:27, two from Ethan Chapman (‘02/Wake Forest, N.C.) to finish off a hat trick and the middle goal, the second for Stephen Mushenko (‘01/Monson, Mass.) was the game winner. 

Tampa Bay Juniors 7, Florida Eels 6 (OT) – Ryan Bahula (‘03/St. Petersburg, Fla.) scored three to lead the Juniors and the overtime game winner came from Tyler Cullen (‘03/Land O’ Lakes, Fla.). Anthony Zebley (‘04/Philadelphia, Penn.) and Kaleb Harrop (‘01/St. Louis, Mo.) scored two each for the Eels.

 

Saturday, November 14

Atlanta Mad Hatters 6Florida Jr. Blades 1 – Madden Jones (‘04/Grapevine Texas) fired a pair and Chris Regan (‘01/New Zealand) scored the game winner to lead the Hatters to a win in the opener of a two-game weekend set.

Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 5, Charleston Colonials 2  – Three unanswered third period goals broke open a 2-2 deadlock, started by Chase Williams (‘03/Holly Springs, N.C.) with the game winner. Mushenko scored two more for the Canes.

 

Sunday, November 15 

Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 6Charleston Colonials 1 – Williams exploded for four goals including his second game winner of the weekend. The Canes wrapped up a three-game sweep on home ice and they are now on a 5-0 run. 

Florida Jr. Blades 4, Atlanta Mad Hatters 3 – Bailey Kaiser (‘02/Weston, Fla.) scored a pair and Jordan Jeffords (‘01/Colorado Springs, Colo.) broke a 3-3 tie with the only goal of the final period. 

Tampa Bay Juniors 4, Florida Eels 3 (OT) Cullen notched his second overtime game winner of the weekend and Zebley fired two more for the Eels. Tampa Bay remains undefeated at 12-0. 

 

Southeast Division

Saturday, November 14

Charlotte Rush 3, Richmond Generals 2 (OT) – Jason Dunham (‘01/Frisco, Texas) fired the overtime game winner for the Rush after Ivan Korcak (‘00/Zilina, Slovakia) pulled the Rush even near the halfway mark of the thirds.

Hampton Roads Whalers 4Potomac Patriots 0 – Nate McNamara (‘01/Pittsburgh, Penn.) scored twice and Patrick Connolly (‘02/Jupiter, Fla.) sank the game-winner for the Whalers while Nate Haas. (‘01/Virginia Beach, Va.) collected the shutout win in goal.

 

Sunday, November 15 

Richmond Generals 5Charlotte Rush 3 - Noah Farley (‘01/Charlottesville, Va.) fired the game winner as the Generals earned a split in the weekend set with the Rush. 

Hampton Roads Whalers 4, Potomac Patriots 3 – Patriots carried a 2-0 lead out of the first 20 minutes but the Whalers responded with three of its own in the middle frame and the game winner from McNamara in the third to claim the sweep. Paul Morrison (‘03/Leesburg Va.) scored twice for the Patriots. 

 

Monday, November 16

Richmond Generals 4, Charlotte Rush 1 - The Generals have improved to a 7-0-1 run. Gabriel Page (‘02/Palmyra, Pa.) posted a goal and two assists, and Declan Murphy (‘02/Lancaster, Mass.) potted two goals. 

 

NORTH REGION

Mid-Atlantic Division

Wednesday, November 11 

Jersey Shore Whalers 7, New York Aviators 6  – Aviators struck back with two in the final six minutes to send this game to extra time but Gage Grist (‘00/Northfield, N.J.) and Tomas Johnston (‘04/Brick, N.J.) both connected in the shootout to lift the Whalers to a fourth-round win. For Grist, the goal gave him three on the game and Ralph Triboletti (‘01/Somers Point, N.J.) also scored three. 

Mathew Fromer (‘03/Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Bryan Kovyazin (‘01/Brooklyn, N.Y.) both scored twice for the Pilots.

 

Sunday, November 15 

Rockets Hockey Club 7, Jersey Shore Whalers 4  – Jason Lastra (‘00/Rutherford, N.J.) scored three times and Gavin Ruschmeier (‘02/Summit, N.J.) fired the game winner late in the second period to lead the Rockets. Triboletti added another pair for the Whalers.

 

North Division

Wednesday, November 11

Junior Bruins 4, Bridgewater Junior Bandits 1 – Ian Moore (‘03/Boston, Mass.) broke a 1-1 deadlock with the game winning goal near the halfway mark of the middle period and Jake Romney (‘01/Winter Garden, Fla.) made it stand up, turning aside 30 of 31 shots in goal.

 

Friday, November 13 

Junior Bruins 3, Springfield Pics 2 – Connor Doherty (‘01/Burrillville, R.I.) scored the game winner in this one 5:10 into the final period while goaltender Cameron Schermerhorn (‘04/Milford, Mass.) stopped 37 shots to grab the win.

 

Saturday, November 14

Islanders HC 2, Junior Bruins 1 (SO) – Both teams scored once in the second period, Jason Melanson (‘02/Clarence, N.Y.) and Oliver King (‘03/Worcester, Mass.) nailing shootout tallies to life the Isles to the win while Chase Levins (Shrewsbury, Mass.) fired the lone shootout marker for the Bruins. 

 

Springfield Pics 5, Bridgewater Bandits 4 (OT) – Dominick Balboni (‘03/Springfield, Mass.) knows when to step up, notching the equalizer with less than two minutes to play then adding the game winner 28 seconds into the overtime session for the Pics.

 

Sunday, November 15 

Junior Bruins 6, Bridgewater Jr. Bandits 5 – James Koo (‘04/Brookline, Mass.) and Charles Chinian (‘02/Petersham, Mass.) both scored twice for the Bruins, Koo with the game-winner 4:21 from the final buzzer. Shane Coen (‘01/Lakeville, Mass) fired a pair for the Junior Bandits.

 

Monday, November 16

Islanders Hockey Club 3, Springfield Pics 2 (SO)

A total goaltenders duo saw the Pics’ Elijah Rapaport (‘01/Clermont, Fla.) make 39 saves on 41 shots and ‘03 Islanders goalie Austin Gilbert make 38 on 40. Jason Melanson (‘02) posted the shootout winner as the Islanders outscored the Pics 2-1 beyond overtime. After a tough start, the Pics are unbeaten in regulation in their last two. 

 

Tuesday, November 17 

Junior Bruins 3, Islanders Hockey Club 2 (OT)

Jacob Romney (‘01/Winter Garden, Fla.) was massive in making 46 saves on 48 shots, as the Junior Bruins outlasted the Islanders in a battle between the two teams now tied for first place in the North Division. Vaughn Gillen (‘01/Belchertown, Mass.) was the overtime hero with his second. The Islanders are 3-0-1-0 in their last four and the Junior Bruins are on an 11-game point streak of 8-0-1-2.
