Another busy weekend is scheduled in all four USPHL Regions. Following is a quick look at what is happening from Friday (November 20) through Wednesday (November 25).
Cross-Division matches will see the Buffalo Thunder heading to Ohio for Friday and Saturday games against the Great Lakes’ Columbus Mavericks. The Skipjacks Hockey Club heads to the Alpha Ice Center for a Saturday/Sunday set against the Pittsburgh Vengeance.
Already on Friday morning, the Utica Comets took on the Rockets Hockey Club (6-3 Rockets win), and the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders were also in Pennsylvania to play the Elmira Jr. Enforcers.
New England Division
The lone Friday game in this division will see the Pics at the Bridgewater Jr. Bandits. The Pics will hit the road again to play the Juniors Bruins Saturday in Marlborough.
The New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs will hit the road for Saturday and Sunday games against the Northern Cyclones.
On Monday, the Islanders HC will visit the Bandits, and the Bandits also face the Advantage in a Thanksgiving Eve battle on Wednesday.
Great Lakes Division
Along with the above-mentionned crossover matchups with the Mid-Atlantic Division, the Metro Jets are scheduled to play host to the Chicago Cougars from the Midwest-West on Friday, and the Pittsburgh Vengeance will be busy, setting up the visit from the Skipjacks with a Friday night match with the Wooster Oilers.
On Sunday, MHC will visit the Wooster Oilers. Midweek action will see the Jets traveling to play at Wooster Tuesday.
Midwest East Division
Along with the Cougars facing the Jets, the Decatur Blaze will take on the Fort Wayne Spacemen Friday and Saturday after the Blaze the 9-5 win on Thursday.
The Detroit Fighting Irish will visit the Midwest Blackbirds for three weekend matches.
MJDP will play hit the road to the Spacemen in Fort Wayne Tuesday.
Midwest West Division
The Dells Ducks and Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings will engage in a home-and-home set at Rapids on Saturday and back in the Dells Sunday.
The Havoc and Ducks play the weekend after the Thanksgiving holiday, as well. The Minnesota Blue Ox and Minnesota Mullets will get one last game in before a month-long Minnesota hockey shutdown.
Weekend sets will see the Tampa Bay Juniors in Atlanta for Friday and Saturday games against the host Mad Hatters, while the Florida Jr. Blades and Florida Eels will play and home-and-home at Fort Myers Saturday and Estero Sunday.
The Richmond Generals will be on the road Friday and Saturday to play the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes. The Potomac Patriots and Hampton Roads Whalers will also meet in a home-and-home set Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, the Patriots will play host to the Generals.
The first crossover matches for the Region will see the Anaheim Avalanche traveling to play Mountain Division teams the Ogden Mustangs (Friday and Sunday) and the Provo Riverblades (Saturday).
Other Mountain Division action will see the Pueblo Bulls at Utah Outliers Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In the Pacific Division, the San Diego Sabers will be in Vegas to meet the Thunderbirds in a Saturday and Monday set. The Outliers will hit the road for a Wednesday contest in Provo against the Riverblades.
Home-and-Home visits will be common among USPHL Elite League rivals this weekend, primarily in the South Region.
The Carolina Junior Canes will play the Richmond Generals on home ice Friday, then travel to Richmond Saturday while the Hampton Roads Whalers will be on the road against the Potomac Patriots both Saturday and Sunday.
The Charlotte Rush and HAmpton Roads Whalers have the only USPHL Elite post-Thanksgiving action.
The Tampa Bay Juniors will engage in a rare three-game weekend set with the Atlanta Mad Hatters, in Atlanta Friday, then back in Tampa for games Saturday and Sunday.
Other Florida Division action will see another chapter in the Florida Eels vs. Florida Blades rivalry with a game in Fort Myers Saturday, then back in Estero on Sunday.
There are three games this weekend, all involving the Springfield Pics who will be home against the Junior Bruins Friday and Bridgewater Junior Bandits Saturday while traveling to play the Islanders Hockey Club in the middle game Saturday.
The Rockets Hockey Club will hit the Jersey Shore to play the Whalers in a Saturday-Sunday pair.
