(Games of Dec. 17-21)

Forward: Ben Baxter, Bridgewater Jr. Bandits

The Bandits played twice last week and Baxter scored five goals and set up one other, helping his team to wins against the Jr. Bruins and Springfield Pics. Against the Pics, Baxter contributed a pair of powerplay goals and the overtime game winner in a 5-4 victory.

Defense: Ryan Alonardo, Boston Junior Bruins

The Bruins headed into the Christmas Break with a busy three-game week. Alonardo, an ’04, stepped in from the Bruins’ 16U team and made his presence felt right away, helping the team to two wins, including a 7-6 overtime win against the Springfield Pics on Sunday. Alonardo collected his first junior goal and assist and wrapped up the three-game debut with a goal and two helpers.

Goaltender: Garrett Woodruff, Springfield Pics

The Pics played four times in the past week and Woodruff patrolled the blue paint in three of them.  Unfortunately, the Pics dropped all four games, but Woodruff did all he could and made sure his team picked up a point in each contest. After facing more than 60 shots in both games against the Islanders Hockey Club a week apart – a 4-3 shootout loss on Dec. 14 and 4-3 Shootout loss a week later, a 32-shot game and another overtime defeat against the Bandits.
