Riverkings win in dramatic fashion to pick up split in Chicago

The Riverkings headed south to Chicago to face the upstart Cougars. After dropping the Friday night game 4-1 the boys respond and What a game, what a win! The Riverkings battled hard and now sit at (34-5-1) Going into the 3rd down 1-3. They dug their skates down deep and fought till the bitter end. It started with Trey Zagrzebski burying one to make the game close at 3-2 with 10 minutes to play. The Riverkings pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and Luke Hartge deflected Zagrzebski shot and it tied the game with 1:26 to play in the 3rd. Hartge wasn’t finished as he scored on incredible effort to score the game winner with 0.7 seconds left on the clock to win the game 4-3. Goalie Riley Allen kept the team in it to conclude the weekend. 

 

The Riverkings play at home on Tuesday against the Dells Ducks.

Friday and Saturday the Riverkings finish the regular season Vs Steele County Blades at SWCRC before USPHL Midwest playoffs begins March 5th. (All puck drops at 7pm)
