The fourth-year USPHL veteran and second-year Patriot has scored three goals and six assists for nine points in the last two games. The ‘03 from Fredericksburg, Va., currently has 36 points in 43 games in two seasons for Potomac.
Defense: Benjamin Pearson, Charlotte Rush
Pearson posted a couple goals and assists over the weekend, as he keeps paying dividends for the defending Elite National Champions. The rookie ‘03 from the Rochester area of New York now has 12 points in 10 games.
Goaltender: Elijah Grant, Potomac Patriots
Grant (‘04/Sarnia, Ont.) earned his first USPHL win by stopping 36 of 39 shots to give Potomac the win in Game 2 of a two-game set vs. the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes. The Patriots also picked up a point from an overtime loss on Saturday for a three-point weekend.
Forward: Tyler Cullen, Tampa Bay Juniors
A local ‘03-born product from Land O’ Lakes, Fla., Cullen scored three goals over the course of a two-game weekend sweep against the Atlanta MadHatters. He now has six goals on the season in 11 games.
Defense: Hayden Spencer, Atlanta MadHatters
The newcomer and ‘04 played strong defense all weekend despite the outcome of two losses to Tampa. He also picked up a goal in the process and now has five points in 10 games for Atlana.
Goaltender: Evan Spinella, Tampa Bay Juniors
Spinella (‘03/Farmingville, N.Y.) picked up back-to-back wins over the weekend - in two different leagues, no less. On Saturday, he stopped 27 of 29 shots for an Elite win, and earned the call-up the next night to the Juniors’ Premier game. There, he stopped 25 of 29 for his first well-deserved Premier start and victory.
