The Florida Eels Premier and Elite teams went out and collected canned goods and other non-perishable food items to help those families not so fortunate in the Fort Myers community with their Thanksgiving dinners.
The Eels organization also solicited patrons from their Junior games to donate food items in lieu of admission fees to watch games.
The Tampa Bay Juniors parents also contributed to the Eels' food drive.
"We are very proud of our players who took this endeavor very seriously, recognizing that they are very fortunate in being able to pursue their dreams and goals while there are many in our community not so fortunate," said General Manager Frank Scarpaci. " We estimate the drive accumulated food for approximately 100 families."
