The United States Premier Hockey League congratulates Jersey Hitmen Captain Dylan Lugris for making his NCAA Division I commitment on Wednesday, Dec. 15, to Penn State University.

This is a commitment for the 2021-22 season, as Lugris is set to enroll at PSU and join the Nittany Lions team beginning Dec. 26.

Penn State returned to the NCAA Division I ranks in 2012-13 after 65 years away. After playing that season as a D-I Independent team, they joined the Big Ten Hockey Conference in 2013-14, first winning the league championship in 2016-17. The Nittany Lions made the NCAA tournament that year and also in 2017-18.

Lugris, a member of the 2020-21 Dineen Cup Champion Hitmen, is a Co-Captain for the Hitmen in this 2021-22 season. He is also their second leading scorer with 36 points in 25 games.

In 2020-21, Lugris had 39 points in 44 games, and added six points in four playoff contests during the Hitmen's Dineen Drive.

The USPHL congratulates Dylan Lugris, his family, the Jersey Hitmen and Penn State University for his commitment.

More to come on this developing story.
