Three-Year Northern Cyclones Standout Stevenson Joins Franklin Pierce University Team

The Northern Cyclones are proud to announce the college commitment of USPHL Premier forward Cainan Stevenson.

Cainan, a 2001-born native of Denver, Colo., committed to Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H. He is joining the university in January to start his college hockey career and begin his second semester of college. 

Franklin Pierce University is an NCAA Division II program playing in the Northeast-10 Conference. 

Cainan played on the Elite team for the 2020-21 season, scoring 21 goals and 14 assists for 35 points on the season. For the Premier team this season, he has scored three goals and seven assists for 10 points. 

Stevenson had earlier played for the Cyclones' 16U team in 2017-18. 

Here is what Cainan had to say about his college commitment, and about his time with the Cyclones: 

"I chose Franklin Pierce University because of the tight knit community not only within the hockey team, but on campus as well. Coach [Shaun] Millerick has given me a great opportunity to become a Raven alongside my brother. I look forward to continuing to build a winning culture are Franklin Pierce."

"The Northern Cyclones holds a special place with me, as I was fortunate enough to spend my U16 as well as my junior hockey years with the program," said Stevenson. "Coach [Bill[ Weiand and Coach Joe Flanagan helped me develop my game and played a pivotal role in my journey to play college hockey. I will forever my grateful for everything Coach Weiand and the Northern Cyclones were able to do for me both as an individual and as a player."

Congratulations Cainan! This is a great accomplishment, and we can't wait to continue to watch you grow and play!
