Eichel (left), a Junior Bruins alum, played for Team USA in the previous two World Junior Championships and served as the captain in last year’s tournament. As a freshman at Boston University, he led the nation in scoring with 71 points (26 goals and 45 assists) and took home the Hobey Baker Award. He was also awarded the MVP of the 2014 All-American Prospects Game and played for Team USA in the 2015 World Championships, winning a bronze medal. Eichel is expected to be taken second overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Tuch (right), formerly of the Syracuse Stars, led the Boston College Eagles in scoring last season with 14 goals and 14 assists (28 points). He also played for Team USA in last year’s World Junior Championship and was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team. Tuch was drafted by the Minnesota Wild with the 18th pick (1st round) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Garland, another Junior Bruins alum, played for the Bruins Empire (now USP3) team in the 2011-12 season, posting 94 points (42 goals, 52 assists) in 40 games. He then moved on to the Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL) and has scored 200 points in his three seasons in Moncton, including 129 last season, when he won the QMJHL’s Most Valuable Player award.
The 2016 IIHF World Junior Championships will be held in Helsinki, Finland, from December 26, 2015 to January 5, 2016.
