USA Hockey recently completed their Select 16 Festival, bringing together the best talent across the United States born in the 1999 birth year. From that camp, a roster of players was selected that will represent the United States at the Five Nations Tournament in Arosa, Switzerland August 10-16.

Defriest, who hails from Coral Springs, FL, has signed to play for Portland in the USPHL and will continue his development with the club. The Portland coaching staff is very excited to work with this high-level student-athlete. “Bobby is a young man that comes from a great family, and I am grateful to have a top caliber and character player getting better every day in our program.” said Coach Matt Pinchevsky, who has worked with Defriest since age 10.
When asked about the opportunity with Team USA, Defriest stated, “I’m extremely honored and proud to not only play overseas against international competition, but to do it representing the United States of America. I can’t wait to throw on the red, white, and blue; and bring home the GOLD!”
