Patrick Rogowski and Cam Givens each posted a goal and an assist for TC, while Nick Gordon and Kyle Winkelman added single goals.
Kyle Bollers chipped in with two assists and Justin Abdelhak made 26 saves in goal.
“We played a solid game today,” Hounds coach Jacek Wilk said. “Our puck movement was good and Justin played good. Those were big points we were able to get this weekend.”
Traverse City outshot Detroit 45-27.
“We had a good bounce-back game this afternoon after a tough shootout loss last night,” Winkelman said. “Our puck movement was better, we were harder on the puck and I think we were just all around hungrier today to get the win.”
The Hounds now get set to host the Kalkaska Rhinos on Wednesday night at Centre ICE for a 7 p.m. opening puck drop.
“After a tough loss a couple weeks back against Kalkaska, we all have a pretty sour taste in our mouths and we are going to come into this game Wednesday night with good confidence after a 2-1 series win this weekend,” said Winkelman. “We will come out faster and will have a higher will to win against the Rhinos this coming Wednesday night.”
The Hounds move to 14-2-1 and sit in second place in the Eastern Conference of the USPHL’s Midwest Division behind the Tri City Icehawks.
