Guus van Ness: Being a Captain at World Juniors

The first two games did not go well for us, as you can see from the statistics on the IIHF website, both ended in a loss for the Netherlands.
As the assistant captain, I am doing everything I can to help our team.  In our first game against Croatia, I had 2 assists. In our second game against Hungary, I scored the second goal and had an assist on our fourth.

However, it is a team sport and my individual efforts were just not enough on ice.

We are building though.  Each day, our team becomes a little closer.  Hopefully we can win our next against game against Estonia and my friend Vadim Vasjonkin (no9), who also plays with me in the USPHL.

Funny thing is that Guus will play against his actual teammate Vadim Vasjonkin (no 9) when the Netherlands meet Estonia on Saturday.
