Marlboro, MA- The Junior Bruins are proud to announce the commitment of Premier forward Andrew Popp to Skidmore University for the 2016-17 season.
The Westford, MA native came to the Junior Bruins last season and posted 16 goals and 26 assists (42 points) in 43 games in the Elite Division and was a key part of a Bruins team that won the regular season, playoff and USA Hockey National Championships in 2014-15. He also played one game for the Bruins Premier team and scored one goal. Previously, he played three seasons for the Groton School, amassing 23 goals and 29 assists (52 points) in 69 total games.

This season, Popp has three goals and six assists (9 total points) in 26 games.

“Andrew is an enormously consistent player. We can always count on him to play his role effectively. He’s a perfect example of how our ladder of development works having come into our program at the Elite level and graduating off to college after a solid season with our Premier team. Skidmore is a great spot for Andrew and we think he’ll have great success there,” stated Bruins head coach Mike Anderson.

Popp will join former Bruin Andy Michailidis on the Thoroughbreds in the fall.
