Marlboro, MA- The Junior Bruins are proud to announce the commitment of Premier forward John Picking to Northeastern University for the fall of 2016.
Picking, a Wellesley MA native, is in his fourth season with the Junior Bruins program. John initially joined the Junior Bruins at the 18U level before moving up to the Premier team in 2013. 2014-15 proved to be a breakout year for Picking, with 19 goals and 21 assists (40 points) in 49 games and he has picked up right where he left off during this year’s campaign having amassed 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) in 24 games, good for fourth in the league.

“John is an excellent playmaker and a true leader on and off the ice,” stated Bruins head coach Mike Anderson. “His work ethic is relentless and he creates opportunities for himself and his teammates as a result of his determination. We are all very excited for John and can’t wait to see him having success at the next level.”

Picking will join former Junior Bruin Will Messa on the Huskies in the fall. John’s commitment to Northeastern makes him the 5th Junior Bruins Premier player to commit to a Beanpot school in the last 12 months.
