The Portsmouth, RI, native is in his third season with the Junior Bruins Premier team. He posted 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in his first season and made a statement last season with 28 goals and 34 assists (62 points) in 46 games.
This season, Doherty has already amassed 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) in 20 games.
“I am very happy for Tim and his family. He has worked extremely hard for this opportunity and I believe he will be great addition to the Black Bear program and their strong tradition of success. He's a very talented player and a big part of our team. I'm excited to see him compete at the highest level of college hockey next season".
Doherty will join six other USPHL alumni on the Black Bears in the fall.
