Warila, a native of Shirley, MA, is a longtime member of the Junior Bruins organization, having first skated with the USP3 team back in the 2010-11 season. He made the jump to the Premier team in 2013-14 and contributed 11 goals and six assists (17 points) to the campaign that saw the Bruins take home the Dineen Cup. This season, he tallied eleven goals and eleven assists (22 points) in 32 regular season games.
“Plattsburgh is a great landing spot for Tyler. He has a lot of Division I qualities to his game and I believe he’s going be able to step into a tremendous program like Plattsburgh and make a contribution right away,” stated Bruins head coach Mike Anderson. “He has been a great Junior Bruin and it was unfortunate that he missed so much time in the second half of our season due to injury but nevertheless he’s a very talented player and we wish him all the best at the collegiate level.”
Warila will be one of two current USPHL players joining the Cardinals’ roster in the fall.
