The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that Captain Nicholas Marin has committed to Hockey East member Umass Lowell for the fall. The forward from Shrewsbury. MA  amassed 20 goals and 20 assists for 40 points in USPHL Premier action.

Marin was also named to the USPHL Premier All-Star team in January.

“I would like to thank Coach Tabb and the entire Springfield Pics organization for their support, and for helping me achieve my goal to play collegiate hockey.  They continually guided and pushed me to become a better hockey player, and encouraged me to never give up on my dream of playing Division I hockey.  UMass Lowell has the perfect balance of great academics and a tremendous hockey program, and I cannot wait to be a River Hawk this upcoming fall.  I would also like to thank all of my previous coaches who helped shape me into the hockey player I am today.  Lastly, I would like to give a special thank you to my parents, brother, and friends for their endless love and support.” Said Nick Marin

“ We would like to congratulate Nick and his family on this accomplishment. Nick plays hard every shift, every practice, every off ice session. His elite skill set, along with game changing speed allows him to do everything on the ice at full speed. He plays a complete game, the full sheet, and a great teammate. We wish Nick the best of luck with the River Hawks.” Added GM/Head Coach Patrick Tabb
