The Philadelphia Flyers USPHL Premier Hockey Club is proud to announce that defenseman Max Luukko has committed to attend and play hockey for Sacred Heart University, a member of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Hockey Conference, in the fall of 2016.

Luukko finished the 2015-16 season with four goals and nine assists for 13 points in 40 games played, all while providing steady defense throughout the entire season. Two of his four goals this season were scored on the power play, good for fourth on the team.

Jared Beach, Head Coach of the Philadelphia Flyers Junior Hockey Team, had this to say about Max: “"Max has been a mainstay on our blueline for the past two seasons, and we are truly pleased he will have the opportunity to play Division 1 for Sacred Heart next year. He has worked incredibly hard during his time with us, and we know his development will continue at the next level while playing for a great staff at SHU. Max is a true student of the game, a fiery competitor, and a great leader. We are very proud of him and the contributions he has made to our organization over the past two years both on and off the ice."

Please join the Philadelphia Flyers Junior Team in congratulating Max and wishing him well in continuing a fine hockey career.
