Saco, ME - Junior Pirates Hockey Club is proud to announce that captain, Dakota Keene, has committed to play his College hockey at UMass Boston beginning in the fall of 2016.

Keene, a native of Poland Maine, started playing for the Junior Pirates Hockey Club in 2005 when he was 10 years old.  He continued his development with the Junior Pirates, where he also played U18 and Elite, before entering his final season with the Premier team, this year. “Dakota Keene is the poster boy for our Organization,” said Head Coach and GM Bill McCreary, “He is the hardest worker day in and day out, he is a player that teammates can rely on and trust, and he is a young man that is focused on doing all the little things the right way.   It was a very easy decision to make him the captain of our hockey club, Coach Belisle and UMass Boston couldn’t be getting a more quality young man.”

Dakota finished this season with a scoring line of 5 Goals and 19 assists over 42 games, but it’s not what he provided this year that will etch him in Junior Pirates history.  It is his commitment to the game he loves, his teammates, and his coaches that will forever live on in the memories of everyone involved in our hockey family.  Best of Luck Dakota.
