East Meadow, NY (October 24, 2016)- The PAL Jr. Islanders High Performance Youth Showcase is in the books after a tremendous week of hockey from the 14U Major, 14U Minor, 12U Major, 12U Minor, 10U Major, and 10U Minor Premier divisions.

The 14U Major division proved that there is no place like home, as the PAL Jr. Islanders knocked off the Jersey Hitmen, Hartford Wolfpack, CP Dynamo, and New Jersey Rockets to end the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.

The Hitmen rebounded well from their opening loss, defeating the Rockets in overtime on Saturday and the Wolfpack on Sunday. However, things ended on a down note, as the Hitmen fell to the CP Dynamo to end the showcase.

The CP Dynamo also split their Saturday games, bowing to the Rockets in the morning and beating the Wolfpack in the late game.

Hartford began the weekend with a win over the Rockets.

In the 14U Minor Division, the New Jersey Rockets left Long Island with six points, beating the Jersey Hitmen, Westchester Express, and PAL Jr. Islanders. Westchester started the weekend with a win over PAL and finished by defeating the Hitmen. PAL edged the Hitmen in overtime on Sunday.

The 12U Major New Jersey Rockets had an outstanding weekend, shutting down the Jersey Hitmen on Friday and the PAL Jr. Islanders on Saturday. They closed their schedule with a win on Sunday over the Westchester Express.

The loss to the Rockets was the only blemish on the weekend for Westchester, as they recorded back-to-back shutouts against PAL and the Hitmen. PAL closed the tournament with a win over the Hitmen.

In 12U Minor action, the Westchester Express were the big winners, collecting wins over the PAL Jr. Islanders, New Jersey Rockets, and Jersey Hitmen.

PAL rebounded with a win on Saturday over the Hitmen and finished with a victory on Sunday over the Rockets. The Rockets won their opening contest against the Hitmen in overtime.

The 10U Major PAL Jr. Islanders grabbed six points from the weekend, with wins on Saturday against the New Jersey Rockets and Westchester Express. PAL also took the rematch with the Rockets on Sunday.

The Rockets won their late Saturday game against Westchester.

In the 10U Minor division, the PAL Jr. Islanders beat the Westchester Express and took both contests against the Rockets Black team.
