Hundreds of Scouts Expected to Attend USPHL Winter Showcase

Boston, MA - The USPHL Winter Showcase is set to begin on January 6 at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA. The event will feature league games from all three junior divisions (Premier, Elite, USP3) as well as the 18-and-under, and 16-and-under Divisions.
All ten Premier Division teams- the Junior Bruins, Islanders Hockey Club, Jersey Hitmen, Connecticut Jr. Rangers, Okanagan Eagles, Springfield Pics, South Shore Kings, PAL Jr. Islanders, Syracuse Stars, and Philadelphia Flyers- will be in attendance.
Elite Division teams making appearances are the Junior Bruins, Atlanta Jr. Knights, Bay State Breakers, Carolina Eagles, Charlotte Rush, Chicago Cougars, Dells Ducks, Detroit Fighting Irish, Florida Eels, Hampton Roads Whalers, Islanders Hockey Club, Jersey Hitmen, New York Aviators, PAL Jr. Islanders, Palm Beach Hawks, Potomac Patriots, Richmond Generals, Rochester Monarchs, South Shore Kings, Steele County Blades, Syracuse Stars, Tampa Bay Juniors, and Team Beijing.
Teams from the USP3HL that will be taking part are the Atlanta Jr. Knights, Carolina Eagles, Charlotte Rush, Daytona Racers, Decatur Blaze, Florida Eels, Florida Jr. Blades, Hampton Roads Whalers, Islanders Hockey Club, Jersey Hitmen, Jersey Shore Whalers, Junior Bruins, Motor City Hawks, Palm Beach Hawks, Richmond Generals, Springfield Pics, Tampa Bay Juniors, and Tri City Icehawks.
18-and-under teams slated to appear are the Junior Bruins, Springfield Pics, Jersey Hitmen, South Shore Kings, and Jersey Shore Whalers.
Teams from the 16-and-under division that will be in attendance are the Springfield Pics, Jersey Hitmen, Potomac Patriots, Connecticut Jr. Rangers, Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, Jersey Shore Whalers, New Jersey Rockets, and South Shore Kings.
A total of 112 games among the five divisions will be contested.
“The USPHL Winter Showcase is an excellent opportunity for scouts to watch some of the best hockey players in the country under one roof,” stated USPHL Commissioner Jeff Nygaard. “Last year’s showcase was extremely well-attended by scouts and we expect the Winter Showcase to continue growing in prestige.”

The United States Premier Hockey League (, which operates in 19 of the 50 United States, is the nation’s largest amateur ice hockey league.  The league is comprised of 110 teams representing 55 organizations.  Players in the USPHL are 15 to 21 years of age.   Over the past two years, the USPHL has seen over 350 of its players advance to the collegiate level.
