Estero, FL- The entire Florida Jr. Blades organization is proud to announce its intention to expand, as the United States Premier Hockey League has granted the addition of a Premier level team to the franchise for the 2017-18 season pending USA Hockey franchise relocation approval in April.

"For the USPHL to recognize the success of our current program and award us a Premier level team, as well as keeping an Elite level team is a huge accomplishment,” said GM Tad O’Had. “We’ve been working towards this for a long time and are ready for the opportunity.”

The new program will join the massively successful USP3 team that will elevate its status to the Elite Division next season. The Elite Team will be owned by the Florida Jr. Blades parent LLC called Gator Ice but will be manage & operated by CCM (Crown Colony Management) Hockey. The CCM Hockey has extensive hockey management and player development experience in the US and Europe. CCMH principal Peter Tschernitz brings over 20 years of management experience to the team and is committed to the overall success of the Florida Jr. Blades. The main focus of the Elite Tier Team will be skill development and to provide a professional platform for up and coming Junior age hockey players with the opportunity to move on to the USPHL Premier level or College Hockey.

The Jr. Blades are committed to the growth and development of both teams and will work together to achieve success, both teams will be based out of Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.

Since the 2010-11 inaugural franchise season, the Jr. Blades have been a dominate force in the USPHL capturing Regular Season Championships five out of the past seven years, while remaining dedicated to the true mission of the program — player advancement. Over the seven-year history the Jr. Blades have gone on to see it’s players play in the USHL, NAHL, NCAA and ACHA.

The Jr. Blades will be affiliated with the P.A.L Junior Islanders, who are joining the 11-team, tuition-free division known as the National Collegiate Development Conference.

The Islanders affiliation will enhance the Florida Jr. Blades programs creating a stronger breeding ground for top talent to help both programs reach their overall goals.
