The Palm Beach Hawks are proud to announce that Elite Defenseman Drew Samson has committed to play and attend school at Chatham University (NCAA D3) located in beautiful downtown Pittsburgh, PA in the Fall of 2017.

Samson is a rugged '96' defenseman (6'1" 190 lbs) from Metro Detroit, who plays a fast game with quality shutdown skills and quick transitions.  He is a gritty, hard working, team player with hockey smarts and a great attitude.

Samson played 34 games for the Hawks after starting the season playing Junior in Ontario, Canada.  He finished the season with two goals, 8 assists, and 44 pim.  He helped the Palm Beach Hawks achieve a trip to the 2016-17 USPHL Elite Division Playoffs.

“I'm very thankful for my commitment to Chatham University." Samson said. “I owe a huge thank you to all the coaches and teammates who helped me along the way, I also want to thank my parents, who have been very supportive since the beginning.  I am excited to continue my hockey career playing for the Chatham Cougars!” he added.

The inaugural Chatham Men's Ice Hockey team will take the ice beginning in the fall of 2017 as the only NCAA D3 program in Pittsburgh.  The campus is adjacent the fellow higher learning campuses of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Melon.

The Palm Beach Hawks would like to congratulate Drew on this wonderful accomplishment.
