Boston, MA (June 2, 2017)- The United States Premier Hockey League is proud to announce the release of the “USPHL Road to the Heritage Classic” video series. The three-part series chronicles the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings as they spend the week preparing for the event along with highlights from the Heritage Classic.

The first two parts are filmed in Wisconsin Rapids by the Riverkings, featuring production by Austyn Quarters and Dylan Torres and a voiceover narration by Antonio Demacopoulos.
Part One begins at 5:00 AM in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, as Tyler Albitz and Will McGoughran set off on the snow-covered streets for an early-morning workout, picking up teammate Antonio Demacopoulos along the way.
After the workout, the team prepares for a marathon weekend of three games, culminating in the Heritage Classic itself. The team provides a look at the on-ice practices before head coach Marty Quarters invites the cameras into his office for a planning session with his assistants.
Team trainer and chaplain John Egge gives a rundown on his importance to the team, and the video concludes with a session of off-ice practice.
Part Two begins with player introductions, with each member of the Riverkings discussing his experience in outdoor hockey, including Jan Senkerik (Czech Republic), Atli Valdimarsson (Iceland) and Maxime Bourque (Quebec) providing commentary in their native languages.
A segment of Thursday’s practice details further preparation, followed by a tour through the team’s locker room with each player offering his own expectations for the Heritage Classic. Finally, Coach Quarters and player Ryan Mantz discussed final preparations for the game to ensure that the Midwest’s notoriously-fickle weather in early February did not affect the players during the contest.
The video concludes with an introduction to team mascot Rowdy the Riverking and details how he prepared for a showdown with his archrival, Chicago Cougars mascot Cody the Cougar. Both mascots received word that they would do battle in a series of competitions prior to the game. Members of the community from local businesses and schools closed Part Two with messages of support for the Riverkings.
Part Three takes place at Frozemont Park, the site of the second-annual USPHL Heritage Classic, and features the USPHL’s own Dan Kmiechick and Lucas Jones of “The Dan K Show” breaking down the matchup prior to the game at Adobe Gila’s in front of a crowd of fans on hand.
After the pregame show, highlights from the game, a 1-0 Riverkings victory, are shown with broadcasters from the Illinois Media School on the microphone. After the final buzzer, Dan and Lucas head down to ice level for an interview with Riverkings goalie and Player of the Game Erik Schutte and their final thoughts.
